The Liangzhu Neolithic culture

The Liangzhu culture had a huge influence over Chinese use of jade, being the earliest attested use of jade for ceremonial purposes. The symbolism of the jade artifacts that come from this culture is still escaping our understanding. I researched these symbols which I stumbled across in many places in Hangzhou, and, although they became somehow emblematic for Hangzhou, no one can explain what they actually mean.
